Affects of hazardous waste disposal on environment

Image
Waste is any substance that is considered not useful in the environment and can be harmful to human health. We have two types of waste which are solid and liquid waste, the solid waste consist of used plastic bags, damage home appliance, etc. whiles liquid waste consist of used water from bath, washing, decompose fecal matter and oil. If you live in a developed nation, chances are that there are quite literally tons of hazardous waste products that need to be disposed of day after day. Anything from a wadded-up bubble gum wrapper to radioactive waste, if left unchecked, can leave a huge and damaging footprint on our ecosystems. Hazardous waste makes up an estimated 15% of disposed materials per year, but think about that 15% in relation to how much one person uses and multiply that by seven billion and all of a sudden, that 15% is a behemoth.

Importance of water to life and its way of contamination

Image
Water is one of the five elements recognized by early natural philosophers, as it was created before the genesis of mankind in this universe. Water sustains the essence of existence. Water formed an essential pre-requisite in the history of creation and has ever since been a source of life at large. Just open your eyes and take a look around - Clouds, Rivers, Streams, Seas, Oceans, Rain, Lakes, Waterfalls, Dew, Mist, Steam, Human Body or any kind of Industry, water is everywhere. For continued animated or vegetative existence depends on water. Water is too precious source for us to neglect or destroy, as it forms the basis of conscious existence. Water has a high specific dirt index. This means that water can absorb a lot of dirt before it begins to get contaminated. That is why water is valuable to living beings and many industries. World is facing a crisis of sewage or waste-water disposal. Growth in the numbers of population, resorts, hotels and industries has led ...

Existence of life on earth

Image
Life on earth first appeared as early as 4.28 billion year ago, soon after the formation of ocean 4.41 billion year ago, and not long after the formation of earth 4.54 billion year ago.  Soon after the existence of living organisms on earth, water became the basic need for every living beings. Firstly, water is the only substance on earth that is in liquid form at the room temperature commonly found on the surface of our planet. Secondly, it is a superb solvent, meaning that other substances regularly and easily dissolve into it. This allows water to carry nutrients to cells and carry waste away from them.

Existence of earth and its natural resources

To understand the fundamental of water treatment we should know about its basic formations of how water gets polluted and contaminated. To understand this elements we have to know about water and its presence on our planet and how it is significant to all living beings. Earth is the third planet from the sun and the only object in the universe known to harbor life. According to radiometric dating and other sources  of evidence, earth formed over 4.54 billion year ago. Earth's lithosphere is divided into several rigid tectonic plates that migrate across the surface over periods of many millions of years. About 71% of earth's surface is covered with water, mostly by oceans. The remaining 29% is land consisting of continents and islands that together have many lakes, rivers and other sources of water that contribute to the hydrosphere.  As water covers 71% of the earth's surface, it is vital for all known forms of life. On earth 96.5% of the planet's crust water is...

Water treatment system

Water treatment is any process that makes water  more acceptable for a specific end-use. The end use may be drinking , industrial water supply, irrigation, river flow maintenance, water recreation or many other uses, including being safely returned to the environment. Water treatment removes contaminants  and undesirable components, or reduces their concentration so that the water becomes fit for its desired end-use.
